Join a 15-minute mini tour for a quick introduction to what’s new at WAM and some tips for making the most of your visit. How have the museum’s spaces and activities been transformed? What exhibitions are on display, and where can you find them?

Magical Worlds workshop Saturday and Sunday 10 to 16.30
Dive into a world of colour, water and imagination in this open workshop inspired by Sabrina Ratté’s exhibition. Using marbling techniques, you can create unexpected patterns on paper and turn them into your own mysterious worlds and magical landscapes.
The workshop is suitable for all ages, and no previous experience is needed. Drop in and join whenever it suits you during the event.

Canadian media artist Sabrina Ratté discusses her exhibition Web of Wyrd, on display on level 0 of the museum. The conversation will be hosted by the exhibition’s curator, WAM Exhibition Curator Anna Perälä.

WAM Shop – a new museum shop experience
The new WAM Shop is the perfect addition to a visit for art lovers and curious browsers alike.
Open all year round, WAM Shop offers lasting mementos of art and inspiring gift ideas. Contemporary art from Finland and around the world features in a carefully selected range of high-quality posters, postcards and books. You’ll also find distinctive, joyful products and small souvenirs that make it easy to take a little piece of your museum visit home with you.
Sommar Café & Bistro
Sommar is a café and bistro at WAM Museum of Contemporary Art, beautifully situated on the banks of the River Aura.
During the day, Sommar Café serves sweet and savoury sourdough bakes alongside locally roasted coffee.
In the evenings, tables are filled with small plates to share and glasses with interesting wines from small-scale producers. The food is seasonal, straightforward and curious. At Sommar Bistro, the idea is to eat together, order several dishes for the table and settle in for a while. From Thursday to Saturday, Sommar stays open late into the evening.
