WAM is located at Itäinen Rantakatu 38, Turku.

When WAM reopens, we expect the museum to be busy. You may therefore have to wait a little while to enter. We kindly ask for your patience and will do our best to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Please follow any instructions displayed in the museum and any guidance given by our staff.

There are construction works in the area around the museum, which affect access to WAM.

On foot and by bicycle

WAM is located in central Turku on the banks of the River Aura. The museum is approximately 1.2 km from the Market Square on foot or by bicycle. Our nearest neighbour is the Turku Music Centre Fuuga.

Repairs to the river wall are currently underway along the River Aura in front of WAM, resulting in changes to pedestrian and cycling routes. Please follow the signs. Bicycle racks are located on the museum terrace, at the end nearest Fuuga.

By public transport

The nearest bus stops are Borenpuisto on Linnankatu and Martinsilta at the junction of Martinkatu and Itäinen Rantakatu. From Martinsilta, it is approximately 300 metres on foot to the museum, and from Borenpuisto approximately 350 metres.

By car

A new multi-storey car park, Kulttuuriparkki, will open near WAM in October. The car park is accessed via Neitsytpolku.

The on-street parking spaces in front of the museum are currently unavailable due to the river wall repairs.

Traffic on Itäinen Rantakatu in front of the museum is one-way, travelling from the direction of Martinsilta and the harbour towards Turku Cathedral. Paavo Nurmen puistotie is currently closed due to roadworks.

Coaches and chartered transport

Accessible parking and drop-off and pick-up

The safest place for drop-off and pick-up is between WAM and the Turku Music Centre Fuuga. The nearest accessible parking space is on Paavo Nurmen puistotie, between WAM and Fuuga. The street has a gentle slope.
