01.09.2025

Laura Boxberg took up the position of Liaison Manager at WAM Turku City Art Museum on 1 September 2025.

The newly created role focuses on marketing and communications, international cooperation and networks, project development and securing external funding. Her first priority will be to refine WAM’s brand.

– We are very pleased to welcome an experienced and well-connected professional like Laura to our evolving organisation, says Satu Pajarre, Director of the Art Museum.

WAM’s ongoing renovation and extension, due for completion in autumn 2026, will further strengthen the museum’s profile as an international contemporary art institution.

– I am excited to continue working with contemporary art and to develop WAM’s connections both in Finland and internationally. A strong and relevant WAM is built through collaboration and by growing and nurturing networks, says Laura Boxberg.

Laura Boxberg has served as Director of the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux in Brussels since 2021. Prior to that, she worked as Communications Manager at Frame Contemporary Art Finland, an information centre for contemporary art, and as a curator and communications officer in the museum sector. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Turku.
